MEA Objective

The MEA works closely with its members, in the interests of health, welfare and food safety. The MEA’s objectives are to promote:

  • Safe working practices for all involved with milking equipment
  • Raising standards and competence levels of all those installing, maintaining and testing milking equipment through training and assessment
  • Best practice in milking to safeguard animal health and welfare
  • High quality milk production
  • The importance and value of milking equipment manufacturers, associated distributors and service providers to a wider audience, such as government and the wider dairy & agriculture sector and consumers stakeholders
  • Participation in shows and demonstrations of milking machinery to encourage efficient use and better understanding of milking equipment

The MEA is ideally placed to provide technical guidance to legislators, standards agencies and other relevant bodies.
